Tributes are being paid to Longford woman Anne O’Flaherty who passed away this week after a brief, but determined, battle with illness.

Tributes are being paid to Longford woman Anne O’Flaherty who passed away this week after a brief, but determined, battle with illness.

Mrs O’Flaherty (nee Browne), of Parklands, Maynooth, Co. Kildare and late of College Park, Longford, died peacefully last Tuesday (October 23), surrounded by her family at St. James’s Hospital, Dublin.

The mother-of-two was also a daughter of Longford County Councillor and local publican John Browne.

Her Funeral Mass inside a crowded St Mary’s Church in Maynooth last Friday underlined the standing Mrs O’Flaherty was held in, both in Kildare and back home in her native Co Longford.

She is survived by her husband Eamon, children Aine and Patrick, parents John and Brigid, mother-in-law Mary, brothers Mark and Ken, sister Elizabeth, brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, relatives, neighbours and an inestimable circle of friends.

Afterwards, she was was laid to rest inside the grounds of Laraghbryan Cemetery. A full obituary will appear in next week’s Leader.
