CHARITY WALK: A five kilometre walk with all proceeds in aid of ‘Enable Ireland Cavan’ will take place from MacSeains, Cornafean on Friday 24th August commencing at 7pm. Registration at MacSeains from 6.30pm to 7pm with registration fee 10 euro per person or 20 euro for family and do please support this most deserving charity.
CLAN RALLY: The annual McCabe-Mahon clan rally and get together takes place in the Slieve Russell Hotel Ballyconnell on Sunday next August 19th at 3pm. Admission is free and if you are a member of the clan do come along.
CHAMPIONS: Congratulations to our near neighbours Lacken whose ladies team were recently crowned senior county football champions following an outstanding display against a very talented templeport team in a thrilling final of top class ladies football played before a capacity crowd. The victorious team received a marvellous welcome when they arrived back to the parish with the coveted cup.
NOVENA: The annual Knock Shrine Novena takes place at the Shrine from August 14th to August 22nd inclusive with Holy Mass and devotions at the shrine twice each day at 3pm and 8pm with a torch lit procession at the evening devotions (weather permitting). A bus will leave Ballinagh on Thursday August 16th at 4pm departing from Main Street and booking for same on 087 2423060.

MS WORD & CV PREPARATION: This short course will run over three mornings in Ballinagh in early September and teaches participants how to use a computer with a focus on microsoft word. Participants will learn how to create edit and enhance documents with a special focus on CVs and cover letter preparation. This course is free of charge but participants must be unemployed.
BALLINAGH GARDENING CLUB: Competitions will take place in Community Centre Ballinagh at AGM. Contest for “O’Rourke trophy” for homegrown vegetables. Contest for Scott trophy. For table arrangements. Competitions open to non-club members. Details later.
