COMMUNITY GAMES: Killoe Community Games Annual Social Night and Fundraiser took place on Saturday night last, the 18th. August in Begley’s Pub. We had a great turnout and a great night was had by all. Many thanks to all those who donated so generously on the night and for your ongoing support for Killoe Community Games.

Thanks also to those who could not make it on the night and gave private donations. They are very much appreciated and will be put to good use for the young people of the parish. Many thanks also to the Begley Family for generously providing refreshments and music and to everyone who donated spot prizes. Thanks also to Connie Reilly for a great line up of songs and entertainment. We would like to wish the best of luck to the twelve athletes from Killoe who will represent Longford in National Finals Weekend Three which will take place in AIT Athlone this coming weekend, the 25th and 26th of August.

KILLOE CELTIC SOCCER CLUB: The AGM for the Killoe Celtic Soccer Club will be held on Thursday 30 August 2012 in Ennybegs Community Centre at 9pm. All members and parents please attend. New members are very welcome. Any person who wishes to help out with a team this season please contact any committee member.

THANK YOU: James and Wendy Hughes, Corlea, Killoe wish to sincerely thank everyone who supported them and donated spot prizes for their recent fundraising event held in Begley’s Pub in aid of Tullamore Oncology/Haematology Hospital. A big thank you to Begley’s pub, Connie and Cormac for great music, friends and relations for hard work and dedication by all who helped raise 1200 euro for Tullamore Hospital. In appreciation James and Wendy.

IRISH MOTOR NEURONE: Fundraiser night in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease and research unit will be held in Rawles lounge Ballinalee Co Longford on Friday 31 August 2012. A host of varied music, artists plus winners of “Cavan’s Got Talent” will appear on the night. Ticket sellers in the Killoe area are the Breslin family Esker and McKenna family Ohill and Cloonmacart costing 5 euro each. Raffle on the night with special door prize. All support will be greatly appreciated.

ENGAGEMENT: Congratulations to Carol Kelly daughter of Christy and Cathy, Kilnacarrow, Killoe who pledged her betrothal to Shane Cassidy son of Sean and Breedge (interior design) Moydow, Co Longford. We extend good wishes to Sean Carol and their families for a great future filled with good health and happiness.

EXAM RESULTS: The parish extend congratulations to all you youth who after a long wait have the result of their Leaving Cert in hand. We express good wishes for your future choice of third level education. Well done everyone and good luck.
