COMMUNITY GAMES: The Community Games Athletics Finals took place in Leo Casey Park, Ballymahon, on Saturday afternoon last, the 9th. June. The weather was ideal for same. A total of 44 young people from the Parish participated in both Field and Track events. Full Results will be published next week. We have three Teams playing their First Leinster Rounds during the week. Best of Luck to our Boys U12 Outdoor Soccer Team in their game against Duleek, our U10 Gaelic Team in their game against Dunshauglin, and the Mixed U14 Tag Rugby Team in their game against Summerhill. Wedding: Congratulations to Fabian Nolan, son of John and Joan, Moydow, who exchanged nuptial vows with Carol Murray, daughter to Frankie and Valerie, Ardagh, joined by family and friends in the glorious radiant sunshine of Malta’s exotic Villa Ariggo Naxxar. A sumptuous reception was immensely enjoyed by one and all. Afterwards plenty of craic agus ceol. The parish extend good wishes to Fabian, Carol and their families for a future filled with great health and happiness.

Longford Rose: Well done to our Dr. Emily Hughes, Farragh, Killoe. Despite not being chosen for entry into the Rose of Tralee final, you have kept Killoe and County Longford on the map. Sure you should have looked Daithi O Se in the eye and advised him to have a regular check-up. Anyhow we are all proud of you and wish you great happiness in your professional field Emily.

Siamsa: An Irish language summer course will be held in Gaelscoil, Longford, from Monday 9 to Friday July 13 from 9.30am to 3pm daily. Catering for students from third to sixth class. Further information plus application forms available from Yvonne Ni Mhurchu – 087-2642665.

Get Well: Extended good wishes to everyone in hospital or unwell at home and hope all will have a speedy recovery. I also wish to thank everyone for their prayers, cards / flowers and good wishes, help and food during my recent holiday in Cavan Hospital with a viral infection. But thank God I am on the road to recovery.

Birthday: Extended good wishes to Aaron Murphy, son of Joe and Linda, Ennybegs, Killoe, who celebrated his 18th birthday last week. We send good wishes to Aaron and hope you have a great Leaving Certificate. Happy 18th birthday Aaron.

Condolence: Sincere sympathy is extended to Padraig McGuire ‘Salmo Lodge’, Cahanagh, Newtownforbes, McGuire families (formerly Esker Post Office, Killoe), Denis O’Mahoney and families Inchnagree, Buttevant, County Cork, on the sad sudden bereavement of Padráig’s wife, Joanne (nee O’Mahoney formerly of Buttevant, County Cork and Esker Post Office, Killoe) and who was predeceased by her mother Anne. She was recently laid to rest. The parish express condolence to Joanne’s husband Padraig, father Denis, grandmother Joan Duane, brother John, sisters Valerie and Deirdre, brothers / sisters in-law, extended families and friends. Requiem mass was celebrated in St. Mary’s Church, Newtownforbes, with burial afterwards in Aughaboy Cemetery, Killoe. May she rest peacefully.
