Rath Mhuire: Congratulations to Sr. Maeve and the Management and staff of Rath Mhuire Resource Centre who celebrated the 25th Anniversary of the Centre on Saturday last. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Simon Cadam and Fr. Seamus Fullham in the Community Centre with people from the various groups associated with the centre participating in the liturgy. The Community Centre was looking resplendent with all the beautiful flower arrangements and collages of photographs of all the work; summer camps; training and social events carried out at the centre over the past 25 years. Representatives from the HSE Midland Region who fund the Centre were there and many other organisations who availed of the services over the years. The current co-ordinator of the Centre Ms Jackie Kennedy spoke afterwards and thanked Sr. Maeve for her foresight in setting up such a facility for the town of Granard. Sr. Maeve spoke of the history of the Centre from it’s inception and the success of the outreach centre The Dolmen Centre in Colmcille which followed. Oliver Cassidy made a presentation to Sr. Maeve on behalf of the community and wished her well for the future. Refreshments were served afterwards with musical entertainment.
