Community Games

Another great weekend was had for all our participants in the National Finals last weekend in Athlone. Well done to all our athletes at their track events especially Dearbhla Rooney who qualified through the heats and semi-finals to the U16 1500 metre final. Congratulations to our U16 Group Singing members who were awarded medals for coming in fourth place. Olivia Whelan, Niamh O’Brien, Katie O’Driscoll, Michelle Mollaghan, Adam Fenelon and Alanna Carr sang their hearts out and truly deserved this honourable accolade. Much thanks is due to their excellent singing coach Grainne Fox.

Over both weekends at the National Final we had twenty four children competing in the games; Indoor Soccer, Talent and Athletics. Out of those a total of twelve, fifty percent, came home with medals. This is a great achievement and we would like to thank the managers, parents and children for their hard work and commitment. We would also like to thank all those who came out to support these children and those who sponsored them in any way. We now look forward to the start of a new season in a few short months.

There will be an Information Evening followed by the AGM on Tuesday, 8th September in St. Teresa’s National School. All interested are welcome to attend and we would love to see a great turnout.
