I never was at a Fleadh Cheoil in my life. So Saturday week last we hit Sligo town around three in the afternoon and to say it was well worth a visit would be an under statement. Every street in Sligo was thronged with people and in every doorway and street corner there was a buskers playing an array of instruments one better than the other. Then on to the main stage the “gig rig” where we stayed for three hours of wonderful entertainment firstly with a troop from mid Galway brilliant music singing and dancing part of them had won the under 15 section earlier in the day, then the “Cavan man” himself Martin Donoghue graced the stage. Overall it was a great day out enjoyed by young and old Well done to all concerned in Sligo for a very well organised All Ireland Fleadh Cheoil.
