Tidy Towns

Work on the village is in full swing again after the lull of winter and a lovely display of daffodils throughout the village heralds the start of the hard work preparing for this year’s adjudication visit in the summer. We would like to thank our Tus and FAS workers for their continued work in improving the village. It is now time for the community to play their part in maintaining the improvements by participating in weekly litter picks. These will commence again on Wednesday, 15th April at 7pm and continue weekly on Wednesday evenings thereafter. Meeting point at the National School. Bring high vis jackets and a friend! Come along for a walk and a chat, and help your community. Killashee Tidy Towns Committee is hosting a stand at the forthcoming Car Boot Sale in Flancare Park on the June Bank Holiday weekend. Not only will this help with our fundraising efforts, it also helps the environment by allowing others to re-use items you no longer require. We will take unwanted gifts, CD’s, books, small household items, bric a brac, toys, and small tools. These can be dropped into The Chestnut Tree any evening between 6-9pm. Alternatively, collection can be organised by texting 087-2026894. All proceeds from the sale of these items will go directly to improvements and developments in your village.
