The annual Clonfin commemoration ceremony will take place on this Sunday, February 1st, starting with Mass for deceased members in St. Mary’s Church in Granard at 11-30am followed by the ceremony at the site in Clonfin at 3pm and refreshments in McElvaney’s, Coolarty afterwards. The organizing committee are looking forward to a large crowd attending and all are welcome

Cycle & Climb

The 5th annual Glenn Brady Memorial Cycle and Climb will take place on Sunday, May 31st. This unique event is challenging and most rewarding, with 147km cycle and a 3-3.5 hour climb on Croagh Patrick. So there is plenty of time to train and we will look forward to another very successful day on May 31st. Details on registration will be available in the coming weeks.

Ballymore Kube

On Saturday night February 28th next Ballymore GFC will present DE KUBE in The Longford Arms Hotel starting at 8pm. This very popular show with a three thousand euro prize fund is sure to provide a great nights entertainment and with music by the very popular Busy Fingers Band this is a night out not to be missed. Launch night

On Saturday night, February 7th, Ballymore football club will launch their up coming KUBE which is planned for February 28th in the Longford Arms. The launch will be in Creegan’s, Bunlahy and the games will be present on the night and all contestants are welcome and there will be live music so come along and enjoy the fun.

New baby

Congratulations to Philip and Cara O’Hara on the birth of their baby boy recently. This young man is to be named David and he is a welcome brother for Conor, Eoin and Daniel and grandson for John and Ann O’Hara, Muckerstaff.

Garden Club

Ballinagh Garden club will hold their monthly meeting on Monday next, February 2nd at 8pm in the Community Centre with Catherine Gibson Brabazon and her topics are Spring planting and vegetable growing. Refreshments will be served and all welcome.

Papal Nuncio

On Sunday evening next, February1st at 5-30pm the parish of Granard will welcome Archbishop Charles Browne Papal Nuncio to St. Mary’s Church to lead us in a solemn evening of prayer and to present Sr. Maeve Brady with the Benemerenti Medal. Bishop Francis and Bishop Emeritus Colm will also attend and everyone is welcome. We congratulate Sr. Maeve on this great achievement and as the word Benemerenti means, well deserved.

Living with Arthritis

Bunlahy Area Action Group have erected two defibrillators in the area. One is positioned at Creegan’’s pub and the second one is positioned on the pier at Mickie Monaghan’s house, Ballymore. Operation Transformation

Bunlahy operation transformation is up and running. Exercise classes are every Tuesday at 8pm in Canon Kelly hall, and our walk continues every Sunday at 10am. Best of luck to all participants.
