Presentation to Pieta
Following on from our very successful pre-Christmas craft and artisan fair the committee will be presenting a cheque for the proceeds to a Pieta House representative next Saturday night 31st January in the Castle Inn, Newtownforbes at 9pm. We look forward to seeing a good crowd on the night. All welcome.
Well done to all who attended last week’s squad training. Remember one of the biggest days of the year is this Saturday 31st January. Start time 11am. Students are reminded to be on time and in full karate uniform. Training continues on Monday from 7pm -7.45pm for juniors and from 7.45pm - 8.30pm for seniors in GAA complex Newtownforbes and from 7pm - 8pm on Wednesday in Kilglass GAA centre. Well ladies, it’s time to get back to work after our little break. Our next meeting will take place on Tuesday, February the 3rd at 8pm in the parish hall. We will begin with our self defence. I hope ye were all practising your moves and we will really surprise Teacher?? Anne and Diane are on teas and our competition is a valentine decoration in any medium, so get those romantic ideas going. I hope to see you all back bright and breezy and ready to work!! As always we have plenty of room for new members, and maybe some past members might return, you will all be very welcome, so come along for the chat and of course the now famous cuppa.
Monthly Holy Hour
The Monthly Holy Hour returns to St. Mel’s Cathedral on Saturday January 31st from 8.30 – 9.30pm. This Holy Hour is dedicated as a special blessing on young people and families for 2015.
SOS (Suicide or Survive)
In Partnership with Longford Mental Health Association SOS is hosting a Wellness Workshop on Monday 2nd February in the Longford Arms Hotel, Longford. This is a full day workshop running from 9.30am – 4.30pm with lunch included. If you, would like to attend please contact Lisa or Jacqui on 1890 577577 to book your free place. A rosary making group meet in the parish hall in Newtownforbes, every Monday at 1.30 pm. These rosary beads are distributed free locally and are also sent out to the missions. At each apparition in Fatima Our Blessed Mother asked that we pray the holy rosary every day. Please come along and support this most worthwhile work, if you have an hour to spare and bring a friend with you.
Divine Mercy prayer meeting in St Mary’s Parish Church, Newtownforbes every Monday at 3pm. Special prayers include the Chaplet and Novena of the Divine Mercy, and St Faustina’s Station of the Cross. All are welcome.
The next Reparation and Adoration vigil to the Sacred and Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary is in the Chapel of Our Lady’s Manor, Edgeworthstown, on the first Friday, the 6th of February, commencing at 10pm. Further information contact 086 0405621 or 0861900640.
