Aaron Hagan Memorial Charity Hunt
The 6th Aaron Hagan Memorial Charity Hunt, Walk & Auction will take place Saturday next, 31st January 2015 from Dromard GAA Clubrooms - Hunt Departing 12:30am; for the Horseless a 7.5 km Walk/Run - Registration from 11:45am; Auction & Raffle on return approx 3pm – Proceeds of this worthy cause to Longford Meals on Wheels & Tubberpatrick Cemetery Upkeep - Tea/Coffee and light refreshments will be served in the Clubrooms.

Classes resumes at the Community Centre, Drumlish this Wednesday, January 28th at 8.30pm, This class is for all ages (no age restriction!!) and all abilities, if your looking to enhance that first dance on your wedding day, learn a few moves or shed a few ounces after the festive session. GAA Gaeltacht Scholarship
The 2015 GAA Gaeltacht Scholarship forms are now available for anyone interested in attending the Gaeltacht this year. All applicants must be 13 years or older on 1st January 2015. If interested please contact 0864017301 for the form and any further information.
With a busy new season on the horizon, the club is currently seeking new coaches/trainers/mentors for all age groups from U-6 right up to U-18. All that’s needed is enthusiasm and a desire to be part of a vibrant and dynamic club catering for large numbers of young people in the Drumlish/Ballinamuck area. Even if you have limited or no experience of Gaelic football you can still get involved as coaching courses will be provided over the coming months. Fr Manning Gaels/St Helens social & presentation will take place in the Old Village Inn, Drumlish on Saturday night, 7th of February at 9pm. On the night St Helens will be presented with their Intermediate championship winning medals. Also Fr Manning Gaels Club Personality, Senior player of the year, U-21 Player of the year and Minor player of the year will receive their awards. Tickets available from any member of the executive. Monster clean up
Drumlish Tidy Town’s give advance notice of their upcoming Clean up event scheduled for Saturday, 7th March next. The most littered approach road continues to be the 3 Km stretch from Kilnashee to the GAA Park at Monaduff. All parish organisations, residents, and business interests along the route are invited to lend a hand for a couple of hours.
Community alert meeting
A text alert community meeting will take place on Thursday, 29th January at 7pm in Drumlish Community Centre. Everyone welcome to attend.
Baptism congratulations to Khloe Marcella Moran, daughter of Michael and Bernadette, 13 Sliabh Cairbre who was baptised and welcomed into the faith community last weekend.

Drumlish Cemetery Ltd thank everyone involved in the Mock Wedding which took place on Friday, 12th December, the Cast, Producer, Sponsors, Chorus line, staff & pupils of St Mary’s NS and everyone who attended or supported the event in anyway. A fuller report will be published in the local notes of the Longford Leader.
The annual Clonfin commemoration ceremony will take place on this Sunday, February 1st, starting with Mass for deceased members in St. Mary’s Church in Granard at 11-30am followed by the ceremony at the site in Clonfin at 3-00pm and refreshments in McElvaney’s, Coolarty afterwards. The organizing committee are looking forward to a large crowd attending and all are welcome.
We remember Mary Whitney, (née Cassidy), Fardromin, Ballinamuck who died last weekend. We extend our deepest sympathies to her daughters Mary Carroll, (Athlone), Josephine Byrne, (Athlone), Kathleen, (Longford), and Ann McGoohan, (Ballinamore) and her sons Paddy, (Fardromin) and James, (Leixlip), her loving daughters-in-law Helen & Kay, sons-in-law Des, Foncie, Sean and Barry, grandchildren, great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends. May she rest in peace.
