Please write out the names of those who have died belonging to you and anyone else that you remember. Place your list in the box in the Church. These lists will be placed on the altar and prayed for at each Mass. Prayers will be offered for all our dead at all Masses. Also two Masses (1 in each Church) will be offered each week for the faithful departed, including the people on your lists.
Mass will be celebrated for all who have died in our Parish since November 2013 and for those who have died outside our Parish but with family living in our Parish and for former parishioners who died in the last year or so, will be offered on Friday, 28 November in Abbeylara Church at 7.30 pm. All are welcome.

A Make-up Master Class
Longford Women’s Link will be running a Make–up Master Class on Tuesday, November 25 from 7.00pm to 10.00pm. This master class is designed for your own personal makeup needs, so whether you’re a complete make-up novice or you wish to develop your existing skills, this course will help to increase your knowledge and ability so please book early to avoid disappointment.

The Sacred Heart Calendar 2015 and Living Prayer Booklet are now available. This year they are celebrating Pope Francis with lovely selection of photographs in both publications. Gun Club Christmas Draw
The Gun Club are holding their annual Christmas Draw and Party in Crawford’s Lounge on Saturday, 20 December, music on the night is by Na Fianna. Tickets for their draw are now on sale by club members and in local shops, 1st prize €300, 2nd prize €200, 3rd prize €100 and 4th prize €50; tickets cost €2 each or 3 for €5. Your support will be appreciated.
Walk to Remember
The Caring & Sharing Association (CASA), which supports people with disabilities, is staging a ‘Walk to Remember’ along the banks of the Royal Canal in Mullingar on Saturday, November 22. There is a choice of two waling routes, either side of Mullingar, 10km or 15km, which will follow the leafy banks of the canal to a finish point in the town, where mass will be celebrated. Participants are asked to have raised €50 to €100 before taking part, and the meeting point is at the Park Hotel at 10.30am. A cycle option is also available, as are walking group rated. Granard Area Action Group Ltd. are holding their annual Table Quiz in Fay’s Bar on Friday, 21 November at 9pm. As this is the only public fundraiser held during the year the group would greatly appreciate your support.
Longford Historian and Author Jude Flynn is launching the 12th book in his ‘Fireside Tales ‘series in Longford at the end of this month. This is an excellent achievement for the local writer. Longford – born journalist Liam Collins, Opinion Editor, Irish Independent, will launch the book on Thursday, November 27 at 8.00pm in Longford Library.
The Solemn Novena to Our Blessed Lady takes place in St. Mary’s, Granard on Wednesday, 19 November at 7.30pm and will continue until Wednesday 17 December. This Novena is a time of reflection, petition, praise and thanksgiving. We invite you to be part of this great gift.

A 25 Card Game takes place every Friday night in the Bay Horse, Granard at 9.30pm. New players are most welcome. There will also be live music here on Saturday night by Matthew Kearney. Refreshments will be served on the night.

If so then come along to the Granard Christmas Market which takes place on Main Street on Sunday 7 December from 2.00pm to 5.00pm. Exhibitors are required to set-up their own stall with Outdoor Canopy and Own Insurance Cover. There will be a Unique Live Crib, the Christmas lights will be switched on and Santa will also arrive on the day. This promises to be a great festive family day out in the town so why not come along and enjoy the fun!
