The Scor committee group leaders and parents wish all Scor participants the best of luck on Sunday, 23rd November in Killygarry at 3pm. The Gowna club have seven acts going forward with 24 children taking to the stage. All support very much welcomed.

Table quiz

Table quiz in aid of Gowna GFC will be held on Friday, 5th December in the Pikers Lodge Hotel. More details at a later date.

Circuit training

Circuit training takes place every Thursday night in St Brigid’s Community Centre from 8-9pm. Come along and get in good shape for Christmas.

Meeting

Loch Gowna Active Age ladies committee meeting this Thursday night, 20th November in St Brigid’s Community Centre at 8.30pm. All committee members please attend.

New arrival

Congratulations are extended to Frankie and Amanda Comiskey, Cloncovid on the birth of their fourth child, a welcome brother for Francis, Ciara and Rian. Amanda is a member of staff at the Pikers Lodge Hotel.

Christmas party

This year Gowna Active Age Christmas party will take place on Sunday 7th December at 4pm in the Pikers Lodge. A collection to fund this event will take place on Sunday 30th November after mass.

Warmer homes scheme

Longford warmer homes provides free attic insulation, cavity wall insulation and energy advice to elderly and disadvantaged home owners throughout the county that need certain criteria such as owner occupied non-local authorities homes, constructed before 2006 or the owner is in receipt of one of the following: fuel allowance as part of the national fuel scheme, family income supplement or jobseekers allowance for over six months and with a child under 7 years of age. Active age

Active age social morning on Thursday, 27th November in St Brigid’s Community Centre commencing with mass at 12 noon for the deceased of the parish. Everyone welcome.

Charity concert

Moyne community school presents 2013 X Factor runner up Nicky McDonald and live sensation Jordan O’Keefe on Thursday, 4th December in Moyne Community School (2 concerts) 1.30pm and 7.30pm. Proceeds in aid of St Christophers Services Longford. Students 5 euro, Adults 10 euro, family 20 euro.

Umbra clothing collection

Supporting St Joseph’s Kavisuni, Kitui to help provoide a balanced diet for a child living with Aids, to assist with school fees for children from poor families to help with food costs for orphaned children. Collection bags should be filled with the following items only. All types of clean and dry ladies gents and children’s clothing. All household textiles (bed linen, curtains & towels) shoes, ladies gents and children’s paired. All kinds of clean and dry underwear.
