On this Saturday, 22nd November a collection of clothes will take place at ‘The Laurels’. To accommodate those wishing to donate anything the club rooms will be open on this Friday 21st November from 7.00p.m. - 7.30p.m. Your support would be appreciated.
The annual general meeting of the committee associated with the local community centre took place on Saturday night last. Sincere thanks to all who attended. The following officers were elected. Chairperson: Colette Langan. Vice Chairperson: Seamus Collumb. Secretary: James Mooney. Treasurer: Margaret Hand. Assistant Treasurer: Seamus Brady. Public Relations Officer: Pauline Leonard. Other committee members are Pauline McNerney, Geraldine O’Rourke, Josephine Lynch, Martina Dermody, Thomas McCabe, Ruairi McElligott and Thomas McCabe. We compliment the outgoing committee for their effort and dedication during the past year. Appreciation is expressed to Mullinalaghta Vintage Club for their very generous donation.
Congratulations are extended to Ciarán and Carmel Keogh, Larkfield on the birth of their first child, a baby to be named Jack. This happy event occurred at Cavan General Hospital on Saturday, 8th November. We are delighted to relate to our readers that newborn and mother are in excellent health. Little Jack is settling into his Larkfield surroundings very well.
Exposition of the Blessed Sacrament with the Rosary takes place in St. Columba’s Church each Thursday evening from 8pm - 9pm. All are welcome.

As part of their fundraising activities, the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday night’s main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2. Six monthly tickets are available for €50 by contacting Marie Matthews. Your support would be very much appreciated each week. The winning number on Saturday 15th November was 35 with Jim McCabe earning himself €20.
Umbra Clothing Collection
This clothing collection will help fund the apostolate of Fr Nicholas Ngulutu in the parish of St. Joseph’s Kavisuni , Kitui. The proceeds will be specifically used in individual cases to assist underprivileged children in the parish in one of the following ways: to promote a balanced diet for children living with AIDS; to assist with school fees for children from poor families; to help with food costs for orphaned children. The collection bag should be filled with the following items only:all types of clean and dry ladies, gents and children’s clothing. All household textiles (bed linen, curtains and towels). All kinds of clean and dry underwear (ladies, gents and children’s). Shoes: ladies, gents and children’s (Paired). Please leave all filled bags at Mullinalaghta Community Centre on Friday 21st November between 9am and 12 noon. Thank you for your support.
Granard Area Action Group Ltd are holding their annual table quiz in Fays’ Bar, Granard on this Friday, 21st November at 9pm. As Mullinalaghta Development Council are closely linked to this group through Community Employment Schemes etc, any support from the area would be very much appreciated. Like many other organizations their funding has been cut. As this is the only public fundraiser held during the year, all are requested to make a special effort to attend. There will also be a raffle on the night and refreshments will be served.
