Craft fair

There will be a comprehensive pre-Christmas craft and artisan fair in aid of Pieta House in the GAA complex in Newtownforbes on Sunday, November 23rd from 11am to 4pm. There will be a huge variety of crafts and gifts on sale. There will be a raffle for a hamper during the day. Refreshments available , your support will be greatly appreciated. We sadly record the death of Sean Kenny, Saint Mary’s, Mullingar and Foigha. Sean was a son of Molly and the late Dick Kenny, Foigha. He was buried in Kilcommock cemetery after eleven o’clock mass on Monday morning last. We offer sincere sympathy to his mother Molly, brothers Richie and Tony, nephews nieces and friends.

Arthritus Ireland

Longford branch of Arthritis Ireland will hold an information evening in the Family Centre, Longford from 7pm on November 18th. Patrick Durkan podiatrist is guest speaker and Step Forward Ireland will offer free foot consultation on the night.

Travelling crib

Yes it’s that time of year again. The travelling crib will start out on its annual journey around the parish of Kilcommock. The crib will be available from the last week in November right through advent and ending up in the church for midnight mass on Christmas eve. Families who wish to host the crib for a night please put your name and phone number on the sheet provided at the back of the church. Please put your name in on time in order to avoid disappointment.

Shoe box appeal

Time is running out for those who wish to contribute to the annual shoe box appeal which is being taken up until the end of November by Tom and Liz Farrell, Clough Dillons, Kenagh or ring 01-2940222.

Kenagh United FC

Kenagh United fundraiser in Gav’s Bar on 29th November from 10pm – 80s and 90s disco night. Tickets available for 10 euro from any committee member. Door prize on the night. 80S or 90s dress desired but not essential. Fun night assured. Please support.

Winners in Saint Dominic’s Centre last Thursday night were Jimmy and Tom, Mick and Mick, eleven games, they share 160 euro. Table prizes: Bill and Pete , Dan and Tom, all win twenty euro each. Raffle: Anthony Cuggy, Larry Grouden, Simon Boland, Val Mulvihill, Bernie Smith by two, all get ten euro each.

Community Games

The AGM of Kenagh Community Games took place on Tuesday, 11th November. Unfortunately, there was not enough attendance or interest to form a committee. However, those in attendance are proposing to hold a further meeting on Thursday, 4th December at 9pm in the Community Centre. If a committee is not formed on or by 4th December, Kenagh will not affiliate and therefore will not participate in any community games activities in 2015. If you are interested in having Community Games in Kenagh in 2015, you are requested to attend this meeting or to contact any of the outgoing committee members, Pat, Marie, Sean, Declan or Ann in advance of the meeting.
