The Credit Union Art competition took place in November. The local schools were very well represented. The following are the results of the Art Competition:- 7 years and under; 1st. Ryan Williams, Collinstown NS; 2nd. Doireann Manley, Fore NS; 3rd. Sean Og Butler, Coole NS; 8 - 10 Years; 1st. Naoise McCabe, Fore NS; 2nd. Kevin English, Fore NS; 3rd. Kevin Hogan, Collinstown NS; 11 - 13 years; 1st. Aishling English, Fore NS; 2nd. Orla Smith, Whitehall NS; 3rd. Eva Walsh, Castlepollard NS. Special Category - Sarah Taylor, Castlepollard Parochial School. The following prizes were awarded - 1st Prize - 30.00 euro each, 2nd Prize - 20.00 euro each, 3rd Prize - 15.00 euro each. The 1st Prize winner in each category will progress to the Chapter 15 competition. Well done to all who took part, and in particular to those who won a prize.

Comedy Show

Lough Lene Gaels Hurling and Camogie Clubs are hosting a comedy show in Hotel Castlepollard, on Saturday night, November 29th, starting at 8pm. The show, entitled “The Pull” is written by Mayo actors and writers Liam Horan and John Corless. The show is currently enjoying a very successful 40 night run throughout Ireland, and is based on a fictional GAA club.
