St Mary’s NS

Children are enjoying the ongoing modern dance lessons in school. All children are busy preparing for their Christmas play which will take place on Thursday, 11th December at 7pm in St. Mary’s Hall, Rathowen. Children have designed their own Christmas Cards in school, these cards will be available to purchase in the coming weeks. Wrapping paper, gift tags, using the children’s designs will also be available. The children have entered a Christmas art competition with the Westmeath Examiner. We are very impressed with all entries, well done to everyone. To celebrate Science week we had a scientist visit the school on Friday, 14th November. He carried out various experiments with the children which were very interesting. Thank you Damien. A big thank you to Kenneth Greene & Kamilika Ranasinghe for coming into the school to speak to the children about the work they do. The gave the children a great insight into the interdependence of individuals and groups in the community. Thank you to Kenneth & Kamilika. A representative from Ballymahon Vocational School spoke to the senior room. The school football team have one match to play but due to the poor weather conditions we have had to cancel this and hope to reschedule in the near future. Finally, we extend a warm welcome to Conchessa Mulligan who has joined us as a Resource Teacher.
