Parent & Toddler (P & T) Child-minders Grants
The Parent and Toddler Group Initiative is an nationally available fund from POBAL and Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). Parent & Toddler Groups are organised on a not for profit basis and encourage parent participation in childhood development and support, a kind of peer support. Grants will range from €100 to €600 for existing P & T’s with up to €1000 for new start-ups. Funding is available for Equipment, Training, Materials for Activities and minor refurbishments. The new Child-minder Grant applies if you are minding or intend to mind 2 children, minimum 1 full time and 1 part time. You must voluntarily notify with HSE and you must nt have received a grant previously. You must give undertaking to attend training and network with other minders. You must provide a service for 2 years after receiving the funding. It is recommended that only 1/3 of funding is spent on consumables like paint, sand and materials for crafts. Roosky Active Retirement
Our next outing on Tuesday, 16th September will be to two nearby locations in Dublin, The National Botanic Gardens and Glasnevin Cemetery and new Museum. Guided tours in each venue. Coach will leave the Rooskey Centre at 9am. Booking non-refundable fee of €10 will be required to reserve your seat. No bookings taken after Tuesday, 9th September. The final cost of the trip to include bus, dinner, entry to Botanic Gardens and Glasnevin Museum is €50 to be paid no later than Friday, 12th September. Expression of interest night for Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouts takes place on Wednesday night, 10 September from 7pm – 9pm at Kilglass GAA Clubhouse. This is an opportunity for parents/guardians to register an interest in having their child involved in Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouts. Any adult wishing to become a leader is welcome to attend also.
