It was a relieved band of local supporters who left Breffni Park on Sunday evening, having eventually secured a 1pt win over Castlerahan in extra time. It wasn’t fireworks however, that get the crowd going but the opposite in fact - the lights really did go out and with drawn games the order of the day it looked this could be another one. Then lights back on and the locals 1pt down they did well under pressure to pull it off and now await replay of Ballinagh/Lavey for next outing. Some victories don’t come easy!
Local clubman, James Brady, Glasscarrick and Patrick Clerkin, Kill, won the Ulster Intermediate doubles championship on Wednesday last in Loughmacrory beating the hot favourites Shane O’Neil and Niall Kerr from Tyrone on a score of 21-14 and 21-16. Well done to this pair who now go on to meet the Leinster champions in the All-Ireland semi-final.
