Scoil Bhride Parents Association will hold their annual 25 Card Drive on Friday, March 27th 2015 at 8.30p.m. in Scoil Bhride, Glen. Everyone is welcome, guaranteed to be an enjoyable night. 300 euro in prizes to be won. Free raffle and refreshments will be served.

Easter Camp

Bubble Camp

Boycey Sports Bubble Camp will be running an Easter Camp (fun and fitness) for children 6-13 year olds in Edgeworthstown Community Hall on Thursday 2nd April 2015 from 2p.m. - 4p.m. Cost is €5 per child. Activities include, Bubble Soccer, Bubble Bash, Last Bubble Standing, Quarter Back, Bubble Bulldog and many more games. Adoration vigil

Longford County Fleadh

The annual church gate collection for Longford County Fleadh takes place on 28th & 29th March outside all churches in Co. Longford. Your support would be gratefully appreciated. Registration Forms are available from Pauline Flood in The Green on Saturday mornings or by contacting longfordcomhaltas@gmail.com This year’s County Fleadh is hosted by the Joe Callaghan branch of CCE and is being held in Edgeworthstown, Co. Longford. Friday night, 8th May, marks the official opening of the Longford County Fleadh 2015 with a Concert being held in The Park House Hotel, Edgeworthstown, commencing at 8.00 pm, featuring the sensational Tullamore band “ Jig Jam” and other surprise artists.

On Saturday, 9th May, commencing at 1p.m., the Under 8 and Under 10 competitions will be held in St. Mary’s Community Campus, Granard Road, Edgeworthstown, in all instruments, including tin whistle, accordion, fiddle, banjo, bodhran, piano, etc. and in traditional Irish singing. Saturday evening at 4p.m. sees the launch of the first “Midlands Busking competition”, which, weather-permitting, will take place at various locations around the town of Edgeworthstown. A prize fund of €1,000 is up for grabs and the competition is open to all genres of music. This promises to be an evening of fun and entertainment for all the family. On Sunday, competitions will take place for U12, 15 to 18yrs and over 18yrs commencing at 1pm in St. Mary’s National School, Granard Road, Edgeworthstown. Commencing at 3pm on Sunday evening, the winners of the various competitions will perform on the “Gig Rig”, as well as various other surprise guests. All throughout the weekend, traditional Irish music sessions will take place at various locations in Edgeworthstown. All in all, Edgeworthstown is the place to be from 8th to 10th May for ceol, caint agus craic! Tidy Towns
