Lotto results for weekend 14th/15th March, numbers drawn 3, 13, 19, 22.

We are having a presentation night on Easter Saturday in Creegan’s, prize winners from our big draw will receive their prizes along with players and club person of the year. There will be music on the night and a good night is in store for all.

Confirmation

On Saturday last, we welcomed Bishop Francis Duffy to the Parish for the first time since he took office for confirmation. It was a beautiful sunny day and a very beautiful ceremony in which the following young people were confirmed,

Sympathy

We offer our condolences to Chris Brady Clonback on the tragic death of her nephew Damien Rogan, Tooman in a road traffic accident on Wednesday evening last. Condolences also to Ann Farrell, Aughakine and her family on the death Michael Reeves, New York, son of Rose Murphy, formerly Aughagreagh who is a sister of Ann Farrell. Deepest sympathy also to Margaret Corcoran, nee Drake, and her family, Newtownforbes on the sudden death of her husband Tony Corcoran which took place at the weekend.

Parish News

New envelopes for monthly draw come into use next Sunday 29th, the cost per year is €150 or €15 per month. €200 first prize and there is 7 prizes of €70, Envelopes are available in the Churches. Adoration of blessed sacrament continues each Sunday from 3pm to 4pm in St Colmcille’s church and there is a holy hour in Purth Church this Friday evening from 6.30 to 7.30pm.

Palm Sunday

Next Sunday is Palm Sunday and the start of holy week, palms will be blessed before the 7pm vigil mass in Purth and the 10.30am Mass in Colmcille.

Easter Ceremonies

Holy Thursday 8pm in Purth, Good Friday, 3pm Colmcile, 8pm stations of the cross in Purth, Easter Saturday 8.30pm in Colmcille. Easter Sunday 10am in Purth, 11.30am in Colmcille.

Bunlahy Area Action Group would like to thank everyone who supported their recent Tractor Run. Total monies raised was €3000, which will be split evenly between The Kevin Bell Repatriation Fund and Bunlahy Area Action Group. A special word of thanks to McCarren’s, Cavan; O’Hara’s Bakery, Creegan’s Pub, Bunlahy; McElvaney’s Pub, Coolarty; Margaret Brady at Windy Cottage Bakeries and everyone who volunteered their time on the day.

Cookery Demonstration

Longford GAA are hosting a cookery demonstration in the Longford Arms on Monday 30th March with Viewmount House head chef Gary Ó Hanlon, tickets are €20 and can be got from McKeon’s costcutter or any member of Colmcille executive.

Tour De Folly

Tour De Folly in association with Ballinagh juveniles & Austic unit Ballinagh NS 80K Cylce and 7K Folly Walk on Saturday, 4th April, starting at Ballinagh Community Centre.
