Parent & Toddler & Childminding Grants
The Parent and Toddler Group Initiative is a nationally available fund from POBAL/Department of Children and Youth Affairs (DCYA). Parent and Toddler groups (P&T’s) are organised on a not for profit basis and encourage parent participation in childhood development and support, a kind of peer support. Grants will range from €100 to €800 for existing P&T’s, with up to €1000 for new start-ups. Funding is available for Equipment, Training, Materials for Activities, and Minor Refurbishments. The new Child-minder Grant criteria apply if you are minding or intend to mind 2 children, minimum 1 Full Time and 1 Part Time. You must voluntarily notify with HSE and you must not have received a grant previously. You must give undertaking to attend training and network with other minders. You must provide a service for 2 years after receiving the funding. It is recommended that only 1/3 of funding is spent on consumables like paint, sand, and materials for crafts.
