A well-drilled St. Felim’s fifteen had too much fire power for a much depleted St. Brigid’s and ran out convincing winners at Ballinamore on Wednesday of last week. St. Brigid’s showed early industry, and following a point each courtesy of Fintan Fitzpatrick, Dylan Mimna, and Conor Gaffney and a cracking goal from Conor Cullen, were ahead by 1-3 to 0-4 midway through the first half. Two Luke Murphy points and a great goal courtesy of Dean McGovern to finish off a solo run turned the tables on St. Brigid’s, giving the winners a twenty third minute lead, which they never subsequently surrendered. It was mo re of the same in the second half as the St. Felim’s target practice continued with an over-worked St. Brigid’s defence being wrong-footed time and again by a cohesive Felim’s forward line. The St. Brigid’s panel was Keith Harvey, Ryan Cull, Ryan Cull, Jack McGirl, Ronan Maxwell, Ciaran O’Haire, Philip Dolan, Donal McCabe, Conor Gaffney, Conor Cullen, Peter Prior, Fintan Fitzpatrick, Michael Prior, Dylan Mimna, Declan Flanagan Paddy Sammon, Mark Plunkett, Fergal McTague, Ben McGirl, Piarais Dolan, Daniel Boyle, Daire McNiff and Adam Kearns. PS: We wish corner back Ryan Cull, who received a facial injury, an early recovery and return to continuity.

Sounds of Revelry
The hills around Drumcoura, Derrygoan, Drumlea, Kilmore, Carrickmakeegan, Ardunsaghan etc. were alive to the sounds of music and song last weekend when thousands of music lovers from various parts of Ireland converged on Drumcoura City for the Americana Country Music Festival. Mother Nature was in benign mood, and apart from a slightly weepy Friday evening the good weather contributed immensely to the enjoyment of three days and nights. There was plenty of diversity in the programme with the names of Lee Matthews, Ray Lynam, Brian Coll, Mike Denver, Trevor Smith, Charlie McGettigan, Jimmy Buckley, Richie Remo etc. prominent, and variety acts such as a Car Show, Line Dancing, a Treasure Hunt, a Lasso Show designed to further satisfy the tastes of young and old.
