The Motor Neurone Disease Association are hosting a charity dinner dance in the Lough Rynn Castle on Saturday, 4 April 2015. Table quiz

Congratulations to the pioneer team from St Theresa’s NS, Clontumpher who attained 2nd place last week in the U-13 table quiz and now participate in the Leinster final to be held in Mountmellick on Sunday, 29 March 2015. The parish extend well done and good luck in final. Any youth 18 years or over who would wish to become pioneers are very welcome to enroll now.

Church notes

St Mary’s Ennybegs, Masses Wednesday/ Thursday at 10am, Friday 7.30pm, Saturday 7.30pm (note earlier mass time due to drama productions in Ennybegs Community Centre). Exposition blessed sacrament in both churches Wednesdays 6 – 9pm. Easter confessions in the parish churches on Tuesday 31 March 2015 at 8pm. Visiting priests available. St Olivers Cullyfad mass Tuesday 31 March 2015 will be celebrated at 10am.


The parish express sincere condolence to Mary McKenna and families, UK, Kelly families, Kilnacarrow, McKenna families, Rhyne/ Knockloughlin on the sad bereavement of Mary’s husband, Bernie (late of Kilnacarrow, Killoe and long time member of the Longford Association London) and father of Joseph and Mary who was laid to rest in Kilfonora, Clare last week. Also condolence to the Carolan families, Scotland, Petie and Kevin Carolan and families USA, Lucy Brady, (nee Carolan) and families, Mullinalaghta on the sad bereavement of their brother, Paddy (late of Ohill, Killoe) who was laid to rest in Scotland. Also condolence to the Carroll families, Knockgranne,y Co Roscommon, Bones families, Co Mayo, Mrs Margaret Toher, (nee Bones) and families, Ennybegs, Killoe on the sad bereavement of her sister, Anni Carroll (nee Bones) who was laid to rest last week in Co Roscommon. May all their souls rest peacefully.

Come dancing

Congratulations to Mervyn Leonard, Esker, Killoe and Edel Sheridan, Drumlish who achieved winning success in last week’s Strictly Come Dancing event. Well good man Mervyn, you proved that the Killoe men can strut their stuff too. All the ladies will want to perform a Strictly dance with you now Mervyn. Well done to you both.


Pioneer members in the parish who qualify for 25 or 50 years abstinence may apply for their silver or gold pins. The Fr Cullen medal is also awarded to life time members (50 years or over). Community Games

Hard luck to our U-10 Gaelic football team who were beaten in the final against Carrickedmond. Thank you to Aidan Keogh, Kevin Dooner, Sean Maguire and Alan Reynolds for all their work and thanks also to the children who played their hearts out. Commiserations but also well done to our U-11 mixed basketball team on coming runner up in the county final against Longford South. The work of their managers Jack O’Driscoll, Yvonne Prendergast and Rebecca McVeigh is much appreciated.
