Boherquill Ramblers

The Ramblers met in the quiet village of Ballynacargy on Sunday March 15th for a loop walk through Balallin Bog, a short distance from the village. The walkers were kept on the move by the cold wind blowing across the bog, which is very exposed at the moment, but large areas have been re-planted so in a few years the bog will become a forest. Any chill in the walkers’ bones was soon dispelled, however, by the tea and cakes provided back at the Church Hall by Club Chairperson Patricia Bruton and Teresa Coloe, so many thanks to Patricia and Teresa. The Ramblers walk on Sunday March 29th will be based at Whitehall, near Castlepollard. Cars will leave Boherquill at 1.30pm and meet outside the GAA pitch in Whitehall at 2pm. The new 2015 Walks Calendar, together with further details of Ramblers news and activities, can be found at
