There was deep regret through-out a wide area at the news of the sudden death of Mr Edward Mulligan, Drumhilla, Arva which occurred on May 31. Eddie was a founder member of the Arva Show Society and a very progressive farmer at that time. He won the Killeshandra Farm Award in the late 1960’s which was a very prestigious award. He was a keen Huntsman with the Cormore Hunt Club and a popular figure among Huntsmen from all over the country. His remains were removed from Mc Mahon’s Funeral Home, Cavan to the Church of the Holy Family, Lough Gowna where a Guard of Honour greeted the cortege. Rev P.J. Fitzpatrick, P.P. received the remains and also officiated at his requiem Mass and burial in the adjoining cemetery. We extend sympathy to his brother Daniel in Dublin, sister Mrs Katie Kiernan, Rosduff, Aughnacliffe, nephews, niece’s and many friends.
To add to the sorrow of the family Eddie was predeceased by his sister Mrs Rose Reilly, Mullingar on April 28 (5 weeks previously). Rose was married to James Reilly, Enaughan who passed away many years ago. We extend sympathy to Rose’s 3 sons and daughter, to her brother Daniel and sister Katie, to her nephews and nieces in the Kiernan family, Rosduff and the Reilly family, Enaughan and to entire family circle.
