All-Ireland Rally for Life

We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of the late Michael better known as Mick Heeran, Funshinagh, Kescarrigan who passed away on Saturday last at his home. Mick was laid to rest in Drumcong new cemetery on Monday last. May he rest in peace.

Bornacoola GAA Club Draw
Bornacoola Club Draw for June took place last Saturday night in the Copper Still, Thanks to all who supported and to Sharon and Shay for the excellent entertainment, winners were as follows; €100 Darren McGushin, €20 each Maggie Martin, Jackie Conboy, Noel McCloskey & Ciaran Fanning (twice).
100 Hour Challenge
A large number of Bornacoola’s underage players recently completed their 100 Hour Challenge in practising the skills of the game. The reward for those who completed this comes in the form of new kitbags. These will be distributed at the pitch this Thursday evening, July 3 at 7pm.
Our annual family fun and sports day will take place at Bornacoola GAA Club Grounds in Dromod on Sunday, July 13 next. The day will get underway with a 5km road race through the parish at 12noon followed by Mass at our grounds at 1.30pm. There will be a chance to grab a cup of tea or coffee and some refreshments at the dressing rooms after mass, before Bornacoola’s underage Stars of the Future take to the field at approximately 2.15pm for the main event of the day – an exhibition game. This will be followed by Sports events and races for all ages, getting underway at roughly 3pm.
Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouting Club
Kilglass/Tarmonbarry Scouting Club will be commencing in September 2014. An evening of interest and registration for your children to become involved in our scouting club will follow shortly. Adult Training is currently taking place. Presently we need donations of any surplus or unwanted camping equipment and accessories you have. Collection for Blind
Thanks to all who contributed to the recently held Church gate collection at Cloonturk Church for the national Council of the blind Leitrim branch the total collected was €172.

We would like to send greetings to some locals who celebrated their birthday in recent times firstly to a good friend of our house Sheena McCauley, Drumard who turned 21 last week.
