Legan Sarsfield AGM
Due to unforeseen circumstances the annual general meeting of Legan Sarsfield GAA Club was postponed last weekend and will now take place this Saturday night, January 17th in the Clubhouse at 8pm. Motions to be with Secretary, Carmel Nulty by this Thursday night. Lively and interesting debate is guaranteed at this meeting. All members please attend and everybody welcome.
Longford Social Services and Meals on Wheels would like to thank everyone who supported their recent church gate collection. A total of €282.81 was collected.
Results of last week’s Inny Anglers Lotto draw held in The Hill, Carrickboy. Numbers drawn were 3, 6, 7 and 12. There was no jackpot winner. Special draw winners of €40 each were Brian Molihan and TJ Keenan. The Club extends sympathy to the Hogan family, Garrycam on the death of their brother, Jimmy.
The death took place on Tuesday, 6th January last of Della Keogh, late of Treel House, Legan at Laurel Lodge Nursing Home, Longford. Della lived most of her long life in Treel with her late husband Tom where they reared their family of two boys and two girls. She was always popular and an active member of the community with an involvement in many organisations. Herself and Tom moved to live in Ardagh village where they retired to spend the latter part of their lives. To her family, Joe, Carmel, June and Raymond, relatives and friends, we extend our sincere sympathy. May she rest in Peace.
Results of GAA Lotto draw held on Monday, 5th January in Mitchell’s for a jackpot of €10,000. Numbers drawn were 8, 13, 15 and 26. There was no jackpot winner. Match three winner of €100 was Michael Leonard, Ballycloghan. This week’s draw took place in Connaughton’s, Rathowen and results will be published next week.
We extend deepest sympathy to the Hogan family on the sad death of their brother Jimmy who passed away last week. He was a member of the well-known and popular Hogan family, Garrycam but has lived in Ballymahon with his family for many years. To his wife and family we extend our sincere sympathy.
Sadly, we also report the death of Nancy Lynch, nee Martin, formerly of Kinard who passed away in England recently. Nancy was a regular visitor home and visited this area quite recently. To her family, relatives and friends, we extends sincere sympathy. We also extend deepest sympathy to the Kelly family, Russagh, Rathowen on the death of Michael, to his sister Peggy Marlowe, niece Catherine Gunshinan and nephew Gerard Kelly to whom we extend sympathy.
