Congratulations to Rachael Lyons, Lenaboy who won the Leinster final of Scòr na Óg on Saturday. Rachael wowed the audience with her rendition of “The Back of the Bicycle Shed” which she received from Liam Butler, Legan. She goes forward to the All Ireland Final on February 14th in City West. Best of luck Rachael.

Irish Dancing Classes

Irish dancing classes will resume following the Christmas break in the Community Centre, Ardagh on Tuesday evenings. Session one 5.45pm, Session two 6.45pm. Fees €4.50 per child per lesson with overall family rate of €10 per family with further reductions for children who pay by the month. No wigs, fake tans or make up for dancers. Children can dance for competition or enjoyment. Parents welcome to stay at classes if they so wish. Contact Maureen on 086 3702719 New comers welcome.

Creative Ardagh

Wednesdays: French Leaving Cert Grind Club 6.30pm to 7.30pm. Starting on 14th January. Practice for your orals and prepare for your written exams with a qualified, experienced teacher/examiner in a group session. €80 for 6 classes €20 drop in. Susan Eades, M.A., H.Dip Ed, SEC oral examiner. Adult Group French Conversation Sessions start on 14th January at 8pm. French conversation on current affairs, Grammar catch-up,French for holidays.
€80 for 6 weeks or €20 pw drop in. Thursdays: Toddler Creativity continues from 11am to 12 pm.  €5 per child. Free tea/coffee for accompanying adult.

Fridays: Spanish Leaving Cert Grind Club recommences 16th January, 6.30pm to 8pm. €80 for six class block or €20 for each drop in session. New members always welcome. Girl Guides

Ardagh Ladybirds - resumes this Thursday at 6pm in Ardagh Community Centre. A fun evening of activities for girls aged between 5 and 7, unfortunately Ladybirds is currently full and can take no more new members.

Ardagh Brownies - resumes this Thursday 6:15 to 7:30pm in Ardagh Community Centre. Brownies is for girls aged between 6.5 - 11 and is a fun evening of games, crafts and activities - for further details please text/call Joanna on 086 237 2616. Community Games

Chess: Well done to U-13 Chess team that won their 1st round match against Lanesboro. Colm Hoysted, Paul Smyth, Daniel Hayden, Ronan Keenan, Alison Keegan, Nora May and Eliza Jane Pearman Howard have been practicing for several weeks in preparation. Thanks to Martin Smyth for organising and training the team. Table Quiz: Good luck to the teams that are representing AMG Community Games in the Annual County Table Quiz this week at The Park House. Model Making: Sessions are starting tonight Wed Jan 14th at the Ardagh Heritage & Creativity from 5:30-7pm for all children interested in doing model making. This will run for 4 weeks and then we will have our area competition in February. Draughts: Good luck to all the children that will be playing U-10, U-12 & U-14 draughts in the competition at the weekend. Thanks to Eamon O’Kane for organising all the training and acting a County Co-ordinator for this event. Also thanks to our TY student leader, Edel Whitney who has been assisting.
