As a result of the very successful venture of the initial run in 2013, the second Rosie Run in aid of the Irish Motor Neurone Disease Association (IMNDA) will take place in Loch Gowna on Sunday, July 20 at 1pm. All are invited to walk / run 5K to raise much needed funds for this worthy cause. Registration will take place in Loch Gowna Community Centre from 11.30am. Refreshments will be served in the community centre afterwards. Your support would be appreciated.
Adjudication in the tidy towns competition will take place shortly. All residents in the area are requested to look after their area. We remind all to be aware of litter.
Forms have been given out to the local school for the summer camp which will take place at St Columba’s GAA grounds. The annual camp will run this year from Monday, August 11 to Friday, August 15 for 4 – 7 age group. 8-12 year old will be catered for from Monday, August 18 to Friday, August 22. St Columba’s GFC held their weekly lotto draw in the clubrooms on Wednesday, June 25. The winning numbers were 11, 20, 23 and 27 with the jackpot of €5,550 remaining intact. As part of their fundraising activities the local ladies football club are holding a weekly draw based on the bonus ball in the main draw of the national lottery. Sheets are on sale in the local post office or are available from any club member. Match the bonus ball in Saturday’s night main draw and you will earn yourself €20. Lines are just €2.
