Corpus Christi Procession
Thanks very much too all the people who took part in the Corpus Christi Procession on Sunday, June 22 in Abbeylara. Also sincere thanks to all the people who helped out with the Corpus Christi Procession. We thank God for the beautiful sunshine and weather that we enjoyed during the Procession.
St Christopher’s Services
Granard Branch of St. Christopher’s Services is most grateful to everyone who supported their annual sponsored walk on Palm Sunday - €2,340 and for the annual church gate collection at Abbeylara €300.
We hope to soon hold the 1st Draw. Thus, those yet to join please do so ASAP. Thanks very much to the 124 people who have joined so far. Please, if possible pay your renewal fee of €100 full year; €50 half year or €25 quarter year to your collector. Many thanks to those people who have paid their renewal fee. Thank you for your ongoing support of the Parish Draw, which is of great benefit to our parish finances. Thanks also to our collectors. First Friday Confessions in Abbeylara Church at 7pm followed by First Friday mass at 7.30pm.
Shave, Wax and Dye takes place in John V’s, Granard on Saturday, July 5 at 8.30pm in aid of Diabetes Ireland. There will be music on the night by Pat Masterson. A tractor run will take place on Sunday, July 6 leaving Granard Mart at 2pm. The route is as follows; Granard, Castlepollard, Finea and Granard. Annual Pilgrimage to Knock
This year’s annual pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday, July 20. A bus will leave Killadoon at 9am, Granard 9.15am and Ballinalee at 9.30am. Booking with Bridget Burns on 043 66 86696.
Granard/ Abbeylara Bingo
Takes place every Wednesday night at 8.45pm in the Community Centre Granard. Proceeds go towards St Mary’s Granard and Abbeylara GAA Clubs. Jackpot is now €16,200. Seats are limited with this big jackpot so come along early. It could be you!

Tax Relief Scheme
During this coming week the certificates for the Tax Relief Scheme will be sent out to all the people in our Parish who have contributed €250 or more to the Parish collections in 2013. From this year onwards everyone (including self employed) is eligible to assist the parish in its claim from Revenue. Thus it would be appreciated if you could complete the CHY3 certificate and return it in the envelope provided by July 20, please.

An Irish Language Summer (SIAMSA) will take place from Monday, July 7 to Friday, July 11 in Gaelscoil Longfoirt.
