Garda retirement

The parish extend warm good wishes to Garda Frank Reynolds, based in Ballinalee and Granard, who threw his hat in the air and retired from the force. We will miss his familiar presence in the area and we wish Frank, Martina and family many many years of enjoyable retirement. Good luck.


Kellog’s GAA Cul camps for children aged 6 – 13 years to play games and learn GAA skills. Also nursery camps for 4-5 year olds now being held throughout the area. Free GAA kit and county colour backpack. Further details contact text 087 912 6556.


Your monthly Newtownforbes bingo session will be held on Sunday July 6 in the Community Centre at 3pm with prize money of €2,500. Cullyfad bingo every Wednesday , Ennybegs Community Centre bingo every Friday at 9pm.

Drama art movie

Summer camp will be held in Ennybegs Community Centre from Monday 14 – Friday July 18 daily 10am – 2pm. The camp is available to children between ages 5 – 13 years covering acting , movie making, puppetry improvisation, painting, collage, games , miming, plus a host of varied activities. Schools finished

We extend good wishes to all teachers, pupils, staff as they ease into their well deserving summer vacation and trust all third level students have great results. All you boys/girls a new adventure into second level education. We wish you five years of great expectations. We hope everyone has a happy safe summer.

Cemetery Sunday

A beautiful warm sunny day was experienced by everyone for the parish cemetery blessings. We thank Fr Casey for a composed Mass and those who led in prayer , all who organised canopy, chairs, altar etc, . Much thanks to TUS representative John Murphy for attention to detail, Gerry Murphy FAS for village upkeep. All plot holders for their endeavour to their graves. All committee members who worked effortlessly throughout the parish on all cemeteries. In grateful appreciation for all contributions towards cemeteries.
