The entire local and North Westmeath community, and wider afield, were saddened to learn of the death which took place, peacefully in the loving care of his family and hospital staff, on Tuesday, December 30th, 2014, at the Midland Regional Hospital, Tullamore, of Mr. Carl Scally, Hillcrest, Coole, Co. Westmeath. The remains were removed on Thursday, January 1st, to the Church of The Immaculate Conception, Coole, arriving for Requiem Mass at 12.00 noon. Internment took place afterwards to Whitehall Cemetery. The attendance at the removal, Mass and funeral was very large and widely representative of the esteem in which the deceased was held.
A very popular and friendly individual, Carl will be sadly missed not alone by his immediate family, but by all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

A guided walk will take place in Fore, Co. Westmeath, on Sunday next, Pattern Sunday, January 18th, celebrating the life of St. Feichin. The tour, encompassing the Seven Wonders and taking in the recently completed looped walk around Fore, will be led by Heritage Guide Bartle D’Arcy, and will assemble in Fore Abbey car park at 2.00pm for a 2.15pm start. The Gruided Tour is free, and will cross grass and track surfaces. children under 8 must be accompanied by an adult, and the route is not suitable for buggies and dogs. The route is approximately 3.5 kilometres in length, and duration will be about two hours. Suitable footwear and clothing is advised.
The entire local community were saddened to learn of the death which took place peacefully at her residence on Tuesday, December 23rd, 2014, of Mrs. Mary Frances O’Neill (nee Brownell), Teeveragh, Castlepollard. The remains reposed at her residence on Saturday, December 27th, and Funeral Service took place on Sunday, December 28th, at 1.00pm in St. Michael’s Church of Ireland, The Square, Castlepollard. Burial took place afterwards in the adjoining cemetery. The attendance was very large and widely representative of the esteem in which the deceased was held. Beloved wife of the late Ernest, mother of the late Arthur and sister of the late Tom, she will be sadly missed not alone by her immediate family, but by all who had the pleasure of knowing her. The deceased is survived by her loving children Elizabeth, Amanda, Hope, Jonathan and Myles, brother Eddie, grandchildren, sons-in-law, daughter-in-law, sister-in-law, nephews, nieces, neighbours, carers, other relatives and wide circle of friends to whom sincere sympathy is extended.
