Henry was very popular and well respected and active in all community affairs throughout his life. He will be remembered for his involvement in GAA having played for Ardagh for many years. He was a member of Longford Agricultural Show, FCA, Longford Historical Society, IFA National Hereford Society, Macra na Feirme where he served as Longford County organiser in late 60s and early 70s. Above all he was renowned as a dairy farmer and more recently as a producer of pure bred Hereford cattle. He reposed at Our Lady’s Manor Chapel on Saturday followed by removal to St Mary’s Church Legan. Concelebrated Funeral Mass at 1pm on Sunday was followed by burial with his wife Kathleen’s remains in Ardagh Cemetery.
