Tai Chi with Patrick McHale continues on this Thursday 24 April at 8.15pm in the Credit Union meeting room. Next monthly meeting takes place on Thursday 1st May at 8.00pm. Virginia Gospel Choir: We are delighted and really looking forward to welcoming the Virginia Gospel Choir for a performance on Sunday 25 May at 6pm in St. Mary’s Church. They will be joined by Jackie Callaghan & other All Ireland winning musicians form the World Academy of Irish Music and Dance from the University of Limerick as well as our own excellent Granard Choir. Computer/Mobile Phone - Learning Sessions
All our participants really enjoyed these sessions, and once again we extend our thanks to all concerned in Cnoc Mhuire, particularly all the students who were extremely helpful, courteous and it was wonderful to work with them. This has been an excellent intergenerational opportunity and we look forward to working with them again in the future.

Many thanks to Pauline Rodgers and Patricia McCormack for joining us at our last couple of meetings and giving us an insight to the importance of mindfulness and meditation in our own lives. Men’s Social Club
Our next meeting date is Tuesday 29 April at 12 noon in Rath Mhuire Resource Centre. At our recent meeting we had a great afternoon with our friends in Colmcille and the Dolmen Centre for dinner and an afternoon of music and song in the Haggard in Dromard. Thanks to Michael Masterson for hosting us and all were very impressed with the work he has done in restoring the old cottage and former dancehall, it evoked many memories for everyone!

Longford GAA Annual Race Day takes place on Wednesday 30 April at Punchestown on Gold Cup Day. This year’s event is kindly sponsored by Flynn and Lynch Life Pensions Dublin Street Longford and promises to be another successful fundraiser for Longford GAA. Glen Brady Memorial Cycle
The 4th Annual Glenn Brady Memorial Cycle and Climb from Longford to Croagh Patrick will take place on Sunday June 1st. This is a very enjoyable and rewarding challenge, setting off from Longford at 4:30am to complete the 147km cycle and then take on the 3.5 hour climb of Croagh Patrick. The popularity of this event has grown massively since it began in 2011 and 2014 will be bigger than ever. So there’s plenty of time to get the training in over the coming weeks.
