Deepest sympathy is extended to Martina Madden, Corfree, Loch Gowna on the death of her mother, Mrs Phyllis Smith, (nee Lynch), Kilcogy Upper which occurred on Thursday, 30th October at the Mater Hospital, Dublin. Also sympathy to Phyllis’ husband Jimmy, sons Seamus and Seanie, daughters Geraldine, Breda and Sinead, sister Lilly Brady,brothers Pat, Sean, Tony, Michael, Gerry and Fintan, brothers in law, sisters in law, daughter in law Karen, sons in law Kevin and Peter, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her remains were removed from her residence on Friday evening to Our Lady of Lourdes Church, Mullahoran and following funeral mass on Saturday at 11am burial took place in adjoining cemetery. May she rest in peace.

Arva Church of Ireland parish groups present a concert this Friday night 7th November in the Breffni Arms Hotel, Arva commencing at 8pm featuring Mullahoran Players plus many more local artists. All proceeds to Irish Cancer Society Oncology unit Cavan hospital and oncology unit Altnagelvin Hospital.
Congratulations to Thomas McCabe, Aughanoran, Dring and Carol Duffey, Springpark, Coolarty who were married in St Mary’s Church, Granard on Friday, 24th October. Following the wedding ceremony the bridal party and guests celebrated the occasion with a reception held in the Landmark Hotel Carrick on Shannon. We wish Thomas and carol a long life of good health and happiness in their married life together.
North Longford angling club are holding a boat pike fishing competition on glasshouse lake on Sunday, 9th November. Fishing from 11am – 4pm. Entry taken at the shore. The venue will be signposted from Carrigallen – Killeshandra Road.
