Lough Rynn Festival
The 20th annual Lough Rynn Harvest Festival takes place on Sunday, 7 September and promises to be a great day out for all. Again, this year the scouts have travelled all over the country and beyond in search of many new features, exhibitions and novelties for festival day, which promises to be bigger and better than ever. With live music on three different stages added to the mix this year, the excitement promises to be higher than ever. The continuing success of the Lough Rynn Harvest festival is a result of the big parish effort every year and hopefully, 2014 will be bigger and better

Albert Reynolds RIP
Well it has been all said and written about former Taoiseach Albert Reynolds, so just to add my bit, Albert was a great statesman, business man and gentleman, a man of his word who never forgot his humble beginnings. Albert started his working life in Dromod railway station. Albert was laid to rest in Shanganagh cemetery, Dublin on Monday last. To his wife and family, to his sister Teresa, Tooman, brother Jim, Longford and all his relatives and friends, we extend our deepest sympathy. May he rest in peace.
