Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival and Field Day takes place this Sunday, the 31st of August, commencing at 12.00 noon. Central to the festival is the harvesting of wheat and oats by vintage machinery, both horse drawn and tractor driven. As it co-incides with Cemetery Sunday in Cashel, it is hoped that those people returning to Cashel will include the Festival in their schedule. Proceeds go to St. Christophers. Please support.

Parish Mission

The Vincentian ‘Ember Team’ will preach the Parish Mission, commencing on Saturday the 27th of September and closing on Friday the 3rd of October. House to house visitation will take place the week prior to the mission.

Pilgrimage

The Diocesan Pilgrimage to Knock takes place on Sunday the 7th of September. The bus leaves The Hill at 10am, tickets at €16.00 each are available at Kenny’s Foodstore, Newtowncashel.

Cemetery Sunday

Cashel Cemetery, 31st of August. Mass will replace the 10.30a.m. Mass in the Church. Drivers are asked to leave the parking areas in the immediate vicinity of the cemetery free for cars transporting persons of diminished or limited mobility. All are requested to co-operate with the stewards at Cashel Cemetery and avoid causing obstruction. The driveway into the cemetery should be used for set down only, not for parking. Plot holders are urged to look after the resting places of their departed.

Pattern Day

Pattern Day will be celebrated at Lady well, Derrydarragh on Saturday the 6th of September.

5k run

CROSS rugby legends Charity 5k Run/Jog/Walk in aid of Cancer Research this Sunday, 31st August in The Mall Complex. Registration from 10am, run starts at 11am, entry fee €10.00 for adult, €5.00 per child. Everyone welcome.

First meeting after our Summer break takes place on Tuesday night 2nd Sept. at 8 pm in “The Hill”. We are proud to announce that our Newtowncashel Guild has won first prize overall in the guild competition (baking, craft, flower arranging) in Longford Show.
