Blood Donor Clinic success
The Irish Blood Transfusion Service (BTS) thank all 202 donors who attended the recently held clinic in St Brigid’s Community Centre, Loch Gowna. A breakdown of the total figures show that 10 first time donors and 9 former donors attended the clinic.

Gowna students bursary
A Gowna students bursary to assist Gowna students undertaking a 3rd level course in 2014 is being provided by Gowna Commmunity Development Association. There are six bursaries available at 500 euro each. Criteria: resident in Gowna hinterland and a college communication confirming acceptance of the student on a 3rd level course. Applications by email sought with name, address, mobile number and 3rd level college course to firstname.lastname@example.org. A draw on Friday, 19th September will determine the six successful applicants. Any further information required contact Jerry on 087 7953131.
Colmcille Ploughing Association will hold their annual ploughing and field day on Sunday next, 31st August at Dernaferst on the lands of Sam and Andrew Noble. A fun day for all the family.
The collection for the Children’s Medical and Research Foundation Fund for Our Ladys Children’s Hospital Crumlin held on Sunday, 17th August amounted to 241 euro. Sincere thanks to all who contributed.
