To Patrick Mullen, son of John and Netty Mullen, Barry who commenced his training to the priesthood on Sunday last in St Patricks College Maynooth. Patrick will now spent the next seven years as a trainee priest in the college. We all wish him well with his studies and we will remember him in our prayers.
Bus to Knock
A bus will travel to Knock from the parish on Sunday the 7th September. To book tickets please contact Fr Tiernan as soon as possible. The bus will leave Abbeyshrule at 09:40am and Carrickedmond at 9:50am.Tickets on the bus cost €16 for adults and are available in the Rustic Inn Abbeyshrule or from the Presbytery Carrickedmond.
Congratulations to Katie Quaine, Tashinney who celebrated her 21st birthday last weekend. Katie was joined for the special occasion by her family and friends at a party which was held in the Rustic-Inn, Abbeyshrule. We wish Katie many more happy and special birthdays.
Classic Motorcycle Run
The 7th annual Abbeyshrule classic motorcycle run will take place on Sunday the 7th September commencing in Abbeyshrule village at 12 noon. Entry is €20 per bike and includes refreshments and raffle. All proceeds are in aid of the Carrickedmond/Abbeyshrule defibrillator group. For more information contact John at 087-8372317.
Presentation to Fr Peter Tiernan

Please support the 2nd annual Tidy Towns fundraising Barbecue on Saturday night the 30th August next in The Rustic Inn, Abbeyshrule with music by Against the Grain. Tickets cost 10 euro. This is the groups major fundraiser so all support is greatly appreciated.

Back to School
St Sinneach’s NS Colehill will re-open after the summer holidays on Monday the 1st September.
All in the parish that are due to host up-coming house stations are asked to contact Fr Tiernan this week to make arrangements.
Used clothes collection
Will take place from St Sinneach’s NS Colehill on Thursday the 11th September. If you have any items of clothing you may want to get rid of you are welcome to leave these used clothes in a black bag at the school carpark on the morning of the 11th September.
Is extended to the family and friends Paddy Bennett, formally Abbeyshrule who passed away in a nursing home in Co Westmeath last weekend. Paddy who was a great character liven in Abbeyshrule for up on twenty years and during that time made many friends in the parish. May he rest in peace.
