The parish of Cashel was plunged into shock last Wednesday, the 11th of June, when news of the sudden death of Peter Hopkins, Leixlip and Drumnee, filtered through. To hear of the passing of someone so young, made it all the more particularly hard to accept. Peter was a true Cashel son, and though he was living in Leixlip, he was constantly concerned with all matters, particularly G.A.A. regarding Cashel. Peter was a larger than life character, who was an extremely hard worker, and a true family man. His death will be an incredible loss to all those who had the pleasure of knowing him. To his wife, Bridget, children, Amy and James and his mother Carmel and father Seán, sister Marie and brother John and all his many close relatives and friends, we extend our deepest sympathy. Following Funeral Mass in Cashel on Saturday the 14th of June, Peter’s remains were interred in St. Island’s Cemetery. May his soul rest in Peace
Congrats to our U-11 mixed Basketball team on defeating the Meath winners on a score 8 -7. They are now through to the Leinster semi-final in Longford on the weekend 28th/29th of June. Best of luck to all involved. Also, the County Community Games Finals takes place this weekend. All those involved, please take note.
