Having The Time of Their Lives
A spectacular event last weekend was the Special Olympics in Limerick as the carnival atmosphere on Thursday evening at the official opening of the games got under way. Over 1,500 athletes marched under the banners of the four provinces which included Cavan and Monaghan, as they paraded through the city to a rapturous welcome. At the games themselves the dedication of the athletes in their chosen discipline, encouraged by their coaches and supported by families and volunteers in a special community atmosphere was heart- warming. Well done to all.
