There was widespread sadness in the area as word spread of the passing of Tommy Steele, Carrowgarrow, Killashee. Tommy was in failing health for a while but he kept going right up to a short time ago. He enjoyed being out and about meeting his neighbours and friends. Tommy was a great family man and was always so proud of his children and grandchildren’s achievements. Tommy will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Carmel, daughter Ann Marie, sons Thomas, Michael and Derek, grandchildren, brothers in law, sister in law, nieces, nephews, relatives and many friends. Tommy’s funeral Mass took place on Sunday last in St Patrick’s Church, Killashee followed by burial in Ballymacormack. Deepest sympathy is extended to all who mourn the loss of Tommy. May his soul rest in peace.
