The Leitrim Guardian is now on sale in Fox’s and all the usual outlets in Mohill, Drumlish and in Eason’s in Longford. As it contains some wonderful reading material it would be the ideal Christmas present for some of your family at home or abroad and it won’t break the bank at 12 euro.
Congratulations to David Mitchell and Natalie Tobin on the recent birth of their baby daughter, Rachael. We wish them God’s blessings in their lives.
Two Gortletteragh farmers have featured on RTE television over the past couple of weeks. Paul Reynolds of Drimmeen was interviewed on Ear to the Ground on the effects that Ash Dieback disease will have on the local economy. Paul is a farmer and timber merchant.
Then on Nationwide, Drumgrania farmer Michael Heslin explained his new concept of Social Farming, which gives people with special needs an opportunity to help out on his cattle farm. It is of great benefit to those who use the health and social services and for farm families and adds greatly to their quality of life.
Jude Flynn, formerly of Drumgrania has again come up trumps again with another fine edition of Fireside Tales. This is the 11th Issue that Jude has edited and is another great book which documents peoples’ lives in Longford town and county back in time. It is a very good read this year. It was launched on Thursday night last in Longford library by RTÉ’s Ciaran Mullooly. MC on the night was another Gortletteragh lady, Mary Carleton-Reynolds, Longford County Librarian. Well done Jude.
