Card Game

The Community of Scramogue are looking forward to their annual card game in aid of Scramogue Church Restoration Fund which takes place in Leavy’s Lounge on Saturday, 14th December. There are great prizes to be won. 1st prize Monster Hamper,2nd prize 100 euro,3rd prize 50 euro. The Annual 25 Card Game is always an enjoyable night. Tickets are just 3 euro each and are on sale from any member of the Committee.

Special Water Ski

A special water ski will take place on Christmas morning as a”Tribute” to the late Brian King. Enquiries to 087-6356729.The event is been organised by Whitehall/Kilglass Special Needs Group. The launch of the event took place at Strokestown Golf last Friday night. Lines are now on sale throughout the region and more details will become available in the coming weeks.


Rosary will be recited in St. Anne’s Church, Scramogue every Wednesday, meeting after Mass for the months of October and November. Mass is at 7pm.

Charity Shop

The Bell Tower Charity Shop is open in Ruskey. It is situated close to Cox’s Bar. All proceeds in support of Ruskey Church Restoration Fund.

Buttercups Playschool.

The parent and toddler group has resumed every Tuesday at Buttercups Playschool between 10an to 12noon.Please come along.

2014 Calendar

A 2014 Calendar with over 60 photographs of images of the Parish has been produced and is on sale in the region for 10 euro.The Calendar is sponsored by Cllr Tom Crosby and is for sale and we are told that this Calendar would make an ideal Christmas Gift. Set Dancing Classes

Set Dancing Classes for children continue at St. Barry’s Hall every Thursday evening at 6.45pm. All welcome especially beginners. Contact 086-1522614.

Enda Daly and Niall Kilcrann wish to say “Thank You” to all who supported their Fundraising event in aid of Roscommon/Mayo Hospice. A whopping 5,055 euro was raised and will shortly be passed on to Hospice.

St. Barry’s AGM

St. Barry’s AGM took place in Clubhouse on Friday night last. We will have a details over the coming weeks of that meeting. Joint Presidents, Paddy Mitchell/Noel Mitchell; New Chairman John McGowan, Secretary Pauline Conroy, Treasurers: Eoin O Boyle/Michael Colligan, PRO: Eugene Murphy, Asst PRO: Claire Hoare. A full list of officers elected will appear in next weeks notes.

Flower Show

The Annual Christmas Flower Show takes place in Community Centre, Ruskey on Monday 9th December commencing at 7.30pm. All arrangements raffled. Admission 10 euro. Proceeds to Ruskey Church building fund.


We extend our deepest sympathy to Bridgie Bradley and family on the tragic death of a loving son, brother, Uncle and friend to many. The passing of Padraig Bradley has upset many of us who knew him so well. Our thoughts and prayers are with the family at this very difficult time.
