Castlepollard Gardening Club are holding their Christmas gala flower arranging night on Tuesday, December 10th, in Tullynally Castle, at 7.00pm. Margaret Quinn from Dublin will do the demonstration, and all arrangements will be raffled afterwards. The supper will be Christmas fare and there will be an admission fee of 10 euro. All are welcome.
Ladies Christmas Party Night will take place in The Lough Lene Inn, Collinstown, on Saturday night next, December 7th, starting at 8pm with a wine reception. Food will be served at 9pm, and musi on the night will be provided by Who’s The Boss. Tickets cost 15.00 euro each, and there will be prize on the night for the best dressed lady. Proceeds for the event are in aid of Temporary Emergency Accommodation Mullingar (T.E.A.M.). Your support will be greatly appreciated.
Take the opportunity to burn off some of the Christmas calories and support a very deserving cause on Sunday, December 29th, by participating in the Coole/Whitehall 5K run in aid of the Carers Associaton. The event will get underway at 2pm, and will start from Castlepollard GAA entre, and finish at Coole Hall. The event will be timed, and registration and race numbers will be availabe from Castlepollard GAA centre, and welcome cup of tea and refreshments will be available in Coole Hall. Medals will be presented to all the participants, and there will be prizes for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd place finishers in the male and female categories. Proceeds from the event will go to the Carers Association for the development of services for Family Carers and the outstanding care they provide looking after their loved ones. Registration is 15 euro and your suuport for this very worth cause wil be greatly appreciated.
Santa Claus made a special appearance in Castlepollard on Sunday last, December 1st, to mark the official ceremony for turning on the Christmas lights around the Square and the Christmas tree, shortly after 5.00pm, escorted into the town by Castlepollard Fire & Rescue Service. There were carol singers, and thankfully the weather was dry and mild which contributed greatly to the festive occasion.
The Coole Yule Christmas Fair will take place in Hotel Castlepollard on Sunday next, Deember 8th, and will run from 10.00am to 6.0pm. There will be many stalls and exhibitors in the hotel funtion room,, and there will carol singing and a midday visit from Santa Claus. For further details contact email@example.com.
The eagerly anticipated St. Peter’s Centre gathering takes place on Friday next, December 6th. The event will get underway with Mass in St. Michael’s Church at 6.30pm, celebrated by Bishop Micheal Smith. Mass will be followed by refreshments, music and entertainment in Hotel Castlepollard. There will be National Learning Network Information Day in Castlepollard Library on Wednesday next, December 4th, from 10.30am to 12.30pm. Castlepollard Library book Club are holding their next meeting on Tuesday next, December 2nd, from 6.45pm to 7.45pm. The book for discussion is “Keeper of the Light” by Diane Chamberlain. The next meeting of the SHARE art support group will take place in Castlepollard Library on Thursday next, December 5th, between 6.45pm and 7.45pm. All are welcome.
An exhibition of works by local artists is currently on display in Castlepollard Credit Union Offices, The Square, Castlepollard. The exhibition is updated regularly, and works are available to buy.
Castlepollard Credit Union are holding their Annual General meeting on Monday evening, December 9th, at 8.00pm in the Parish Community Centre, Church Street, Castlepollard. All Credit Union members are encouraged to attend. The Prize Draw will take place on the night, with prizes ranging from the main prize of 10,000 euro, to multiple prizes of 200 euro each. There will be a special draw on the night confined to Credit Union members in attendance at the AGM, and refreshments will be served.
