Friday Night Fever
The Disco Fundraiser for Bornacoola GAA was a tremendous success on Friday night last in Lough Rynn. Costumes from the 70’s/80’s and 90’s were on view, with everyone going to great lengths to dress up for the occasion. The organising committee would like to thank everyone who supported the event, those who attended and bought tickets, and those who helped out in any way on the night. Thanks to Selena Shanley Physiotherapy, Sean McCauley Transport, Derek Hunt at the Copper Still, and Feargal McGill for sponsoring prizes on the night. DJ David Nugent was outstanding with his choice of music making the night what it was. Congrats to Tom and Deirdre Mulligan for picking up the top prize of a hotel stay in Jury’s Croke Park and tickets to Croke park.

Noel Mahon, the co-ordinator of the fundraiser would like to thank each and everyone who contributed to the cause so generously, and also to those who turned out on the day to pack the bags it was much appreciated.
We would like to send our condolences to the family and friends of the late Elizabeth better know as Lily Shanley, Dalkey and the Abbey Theatre Dublin and formerly from Annaduff who passed away on Friday last. Lily’s Cremation service took place on Monday last at Mount Jerome Crematorium. May she Rest in Peace.
I would say this is a first for our area at least it’s the first time I have heard of Silage being harvested in December. On December 2nd (Monday last) local farmer and agricultural contractor Gerry Gearty was baling silage. This is the third cut this year and top quality with a great yield and finishes off what was a great year for silage and hay. Surely a record for the parish of Bornacoola.
