St. Mary’s National School Parent’s Association hold their annual Table Quiz and Raffle in the Peer Inn Lisnacusha, this Saturday the 12th of April at 9pm. Tables of four €40. Your support would be greatly appreciated.
Well done to St. Mary’s National School basketball team and panel, who came third in the competition held in The Mall last Sunday. Also thanks to Joe Mulvihill and John Morrisey for their hard work with the team and panel.
Thanks to everyone who contributed to our church gate collection and to everyone that donated money to Newtowncashel Community Games. It is very much appreciated. Congratulations to Aidan Mulvihill on winning boys U10 County handwriting final in Ballymahon. Aidan will now go on to represent Longford in the National Finals in Athlone in August. Thanks to everyone that was involved in the backstage theatre a few weeks ago especially all the children that took part. Training for Tag rugby, Gaelic football and Basketball continues each week with competition games coming up soon. Art and model making will take place in the Hill on the 23rd of April at 6pm. All competitors to bring their own materials. Paper will be supplied. Congratulations to Alanna Flood who won the u12 mixed distance relay in Ballymahon on Friday last. Alanna now goes on to represent Longford in the National finals in August.
The Junior Choir will rehearse in the Church this Saturday, the 12th of April, from 6 to 7pm in preparation for the ‘Do this in Memory’ on Holy Thursday and the Children’s Mass on Easter Sunday. A further practice will be held after the ceremonies on Good Friday.
An Altar Servers practice for Holy Week will be held be held in the Church on Tuesday, 15th April at 5pm. All servers who are involved in the Ceremonies are asked to attend.
We extend our deepest sympathies to the family and friends of Bernard Farrell, Killenure Nurseries, Ballybrittas, Co. Laois and formerly of Carrowbeg, who died last Wednesday, 2nd of April. May his Soul Rest in Peace.
