Official Opening

Kilglass Gaels GAA Club host the official opening of their newly refurbished grounds over the Easter weekend. Activities for weekend include on Friday, 18th April underage coaching with Roscommon County payers, fun and games in sports hall, handball exhibition by County players and monster table quiz with prizes for different categories at 9pm, on Saturday, 19th Gaelic for girls blitz involving Kilglass Gaels, Castlerea and Kiltubrid, two under 16 quarter finals involving Kilglass Gaels at 2.30pm, minor boys game at 5.30pm and 80s disco at 10pm and on Sunday blessing of grounds at 1.15pm, league game at 1.30pm, official opening by GAA President Liam O’Neill at 3.30pm and challenge match with Roscommon and Longford at 4.15pm, trad sessions and Irish dancing at 5.30pm and music till late with Heebie Jeebies.


The death has occurred of Bridget (Bridie) Connor, (nee Lannon), Cloonfad, Roosky on 29th March. Removal took place to Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Roosky with funeral mass the following day and burial afterwards in Kilbarry cemetery. Sincere sympathy to her sons P J and Michael, daughters Mary and Dympna, daughter in law Kathleen, grandchildren Teresa, Michelle and Patrick, sisters Philomena (Tierney) and Ita (Kelly) brother in law, sisters in law, nephews, nieces, cousins, relatives and friends. May she rest in peace.


The death occurred of Thomas Anthony (Tony) Dennigan, Tomiskey, Dromod. Removal took place to St Michael’s Church, Bornacoola with funeral mass and burial in Cloonmorris cemetery. Sincere sympathy to his wife Mary Jo, sister Bridie Lawe, (Kenagh), brother Jim, (Manchester), brother-in-law Bernie, sister-in-law Moira, niece Patricia, nephew Paul, niece-in-law, nephews-in-law, cousins, relatives, neighbours and friends. May he rest in peace.


Kilglass Gaels GAA Monster Bingo at Kilglass Gaels GAA Centre on Sunday, 13th April at 3pm. Prize fund €10,000, Single Books €15, double books €20.

Trip to Derry

Roosky Active Retirement Group are organising a Trip to Derry on Tuesday 10th June to include visit to Guild Hall and The Derry Wall. Bus departs Roosky at 8.30am. Price €50 per person. Some seats left. Contact 086 8534100 for more information and to book a seat.
