The local lotto draw was held on Sunday night last. Numbers drawn were 14, 17, 24, 29. There was no jackpot winner. €40 went to Kevin Bracken. €20 each went to Brian Farrell, Mairead Hughes and John Kelly. The next draw will take place in The Camlin Bar, Clondra on Easter Monday, 21st April for a jackpot of €6,020. Your continued support is greatly appreciated. Mr & Mrs Fun Night.

Well known television presenter Nanchang Magan is hosting the Mr & Mrs fun night in Magan’s Bar, Killashee on Friday night 11th April with local couples vying for the top spot! All proceeds from the night are for Mercy Secondary School, Ballymahon and it’s hoped that all parents of children in the school will come together to make the night a success and maybe donate a spot prize for the raffle. A great nights fun is assured.

Community Games

Congratulations to Cait Kiely, Peter Nolan and Conor Clancy who have qualified for the national finals in cross country running. The finals will take place in Athlone later in the year and we wish them every success. The annual Easter Egg draw will be held on Wednesday, 16 April. Tickets are available from the children in the parish and cost €2 each. There are three monster eggs to be won. Your support is greatly appreciated.

St. Brigids GAA Club

Registration of players is now due €20 for non - players, €40 for players and €50 for families. Please give registration fees to Dan Magan or Sean Sheridan.


The club is collecting scrap metal. Any scrap metal you may have lying around can be dropped in Liam Farrell’s yard in Clondra. In the next few weeks members of the committee will call to all houses in the area to collect any metal items. The only items not acceptable are tyres, fridges and televisions.

Race Day

County Longford GAA Race Day is on Wed 30 April in Punchestown Race Course. Tickets €100 - limited number available so get yours from any of the club committee members. Always a great event.

Tidy Towns

Killashee Tidy Towns committee are hosting an American Tea Party in The Chestnut Tree, Killashee on Friday, 25th April. Music on the night will be supplied by Jivin Ivan and tickets are available from any committee member.

The group will also be launching their Killashee Village and Area Enhancement Plan on the night of the American Tea Party. Your support would be greatly appreciated. If you would be interested in helping the Tidy Towns Group by cutting grass, weeding, litter picking etc, please get in contact with the committee, they would be delighted to hear from you.

Southern Gaels

Southern Gaels training for U-8s, U-10s and U-12s will take place in Killashee pitch each Sunday from 11.30am to 12.30pm.
